Governor-Elect's Page

To the Members of Southern Region:
It is my pleasure to serve as the Southern Region 2008-2010 Governor-Elect. These two years of service will give me the time and opportunity to get to know more about the members of the region and prepare me to lead in 2010.
I have just returned from the Soroptimist International of the Americas convention in Taipei, Taiwan and am filled with information and enthusiasm for our goals. Almost 1,700 Soroptimists from the Americas, Japan, Korea, Phillipines, Taiwan and other countries too numerous to mention got together to share experiences and plans. What a wonderful mix of women and ideas!
I will try to share what I have learned when I meet our members at their club meetings, district meetings and region conferences. I want to hear how you attract members, raise funds, and give service so I can tell other members and clubs.
One of the things I like best about Soroptimist is the people I meet. So as I travel around the region make sure I know who you are. When we do our service for women and girls make sure others know who we are also. We do our best recruiting when we are making the biggest difference in people’s lives – but only if people know we are doing it.
I know our region will grow and prosper during Governor Nidia’s biennium, and I look forward to seeing all of you contributing to the success.
Priscilla Tatarsky
Southern Region Governor-Elect
2008-2010
